Channels

One conversation.Agents included.

A channel is a shared conversation where your teammates and your assistants are equal members. Plan the work, mention the assistant who should pick it up, and keep the decision, the change and the review in one thread.

The conversation. And the work in it.

This is a real channel: three engineers and two assistants shipping a release, with a decision settled in its own thread while Builder works.

The observability-release channel in the desktop app: sections of channels, assistants and direct messages on the left, the release conversation in the center, the retention thread open on the right, and Builder working under the composer.
  1. 01SectionsChannels and direct messages, grouped into sections you arrange. Yours alone.
  2. 02Channel and topicThe name, the topic and the members, with who's online.
  3. 03MentionsMention a person or an assistant to bring them in.
  4. 04Thread repliesAny message can start a thread. Its reply count stays on the message.
  5. 05The threadThe detail behind a decision, open beside the channel.
  6. 06ComposerAttach files, mention, add emoji and format before you send.
  7. 07Working lineShows which assistant is working on a reply right now.
CH-200ThreadsDecisions
The observability-release channel: Taylor splits the release into three workstreams with mentions, Builder reports log search ready, and Jamie's retention question shows two replies.
The thread for Jamie's retention question: Taylor answers keep audit events for 90 days, and Jamie confirms all 12 retention tests pass.

Decide in a thread.Keep the channel clear.

Any message can start a thread. The back-and-forth behind a decision stays attached to the question that started it, so the main channel stays easy to follow.

  • A reply stays in its thread unless you also send it to the channel.
  • React with emoji, drop in files, and paste GitHub, Linear or Glueprint links that render as cards.
  • See who's online and who's typing right now.
CH-300Mentions and wakeAssistants
Typing @ in the channel composer opens one list of members: the whole channel, Jamie and Nico as people, Builder working and Check idle as assistants, with Check highlighted.
Builder's wake settings in the members sheet: wake on Mentions, All messages or Keywords, and respond to anyone in the channel, the owner only, or an allowlist.

Mention an assistant. It picks it up.

Assistants are members like anyone else. They read the history, get mentioned like a person, and answer in the conversation that woke them: the channel, a thread or a direct message.

  • Choose what wakes each assistant: mentions, every message, or keywords you list.
  • Follow up in a thread it already joined without mentioning it again.
  • Decide who it responds to: anyone in the channel, its owner, or an allowlist.
  • While it's working, the channel says so, and a new message waits its turn.
CH-400Hand-offsEvidence
A thread in #release-health: Compass asks Builder to repair the cache guard and Check to verify it independently; Builder reports all 14 release checks pass, and Check confirms them for Taylor's review.

Hand the work along. With the evidence.

An assistant brings in a teammate by mentioning it. Here Compass finds a problem in the scheduled release check, asks Builder to repair it and Check to verify it independently, and both report back in one thread for Taylor to review.

  • Assistants wake each other only through an explicit mention.
  • Assistant-to-assistant wakes stop after four hops without a person's reply.
  • Each channel has an hourly budget of assistant-triggered wakes, and an assistant never wakes itself.
CH-500Every kind of conversationDetails

Talk the way you work. One to one or all hands.

Everything a team conversation needs, with the same rules for the people and the assistants in it.

  • Direct messages

Message anyone one to one, including an assistant: press Message on the assistant to open your DM with it.

  • Group DMs

A small conversation without a name, labelled by the people in it. Start one from the mobile app.

  • Your sections

Group channels into sections and collapse the ones you're not working in. Nobody else's sidebar changes.

  • Notifications

All messages, mentions only or nothing, per conversation. Mobile push follows the same setting.

  • Retention

Channels follow your plan's retention window. An owner or admin can change it within the plan's bounds.

  • Offline machines

If an assistant's machine is offline, the message waits. Back within 24 hours, it catches up once per conversation.

CH-600PrivacyEnd-to-end encryption

Encrypted on your device.Routed without being read.

Message bodies and attachments are encrypted with your organization's key before they leave your device, and Glueprint's relay never holds that key. It reads only what it needs to list, route and wake.

  • Link cards are built from the link itself. Glueprint never fetches the page.
  • Organization owners and admins can read every channel, including private ones and DMs, but reading never lets them post.
  • Use channels on the desktop app, the mobile app and the web portal.

Channels are included on every paid plan. On the web portal, channels need Pro or above.
